Kintore club nets new sponsorship deal
A burgeoning north-east girls' football squad has clinched a kit
sponsorship deal in time for the new season.
Kintore United recently introduced a dedicated girls section to
complement its existing teams which compete at a variety of age
groups from primary school through to under-19s.
Already more than 25 youngsters are taking part in weekly
training sessions with the Aberdeenshire club, with that number
continuing to grow.
One of the Kintore United coaches Lisa Thomson, who is
operations director with business software specialist Codify, has
secured sponsorship from her Aberdeen-based employer to purchase
playing kit for the under-11s girls team.
She said: "We're delighted with how quickly the girls section
has gathered pace and it is fantastic to see the skill and
enthusiasm in the group. It looks set to go from strength to
strength and we are always happy to see new players joining.
"Kintore United has always welcomed girls, who in the younger
age groups have traditionally played alongside boys in the same
teams, and this is a natural next step.
"On behalf of everyone at the club, I must thank Codify for this
backing. The company supports a variety of good causes, from
charities to grass roots sport, and everyone at Kintore United
appreciates the gesture."
