Codify launches new software business

Aberdeen-based software specialist, Codify, has launched a new spin-off company to further develop and market its new software product.

Codify has enjoyed great success over the last 12 years, building custom software systems for businesses in the oil and gas industry. The firm has drawn on this experience to develop their new business management system, known as MAX, addressing many common business needs.

MAX is targeted at small businesses who have outgrown spreadsheets but do not warrant the complexity and cost of a typical large-scale software system. The software has also been designed to work alongside popular accounting software from Sage.

Mark Griffiths, founder of Codify, commented: "Since Codify's core business is very service-oriented, it made perfect sense to set up a brand new business that has a different, product-oriented focus."

The new company, MAX Business Software, will be run by the same board of directors as Codify. Mark will be appointed as Managing Director of the new business, with Graeme Humphrey taking over as Managing Director of Codify.

Mark added: "Graeme has been running the operations at Codify for over a decade and knows the business inside and out. I am very much looking forward to the challenge of establishing the new business whilst knowing that Codify is left in very capable hands."
